Born in New Brunswick, Lerke grew up in Whitehouse Station and lived in Oxford at the time of his death, his obituary and social media pages say.
Lerke had worked as a chemical technician at VIP Managing in Califon with previous experience at F&M Hobbies, Dicola’s Pizza and Hunan Wok, according to his Facebook page and memorial.
Lerke was known for his love of animals and had three cats and a bird of his own. He also enjoyed photography, paintball, and RC cars.
“Ryan was a man with incredible wit, sarcasm, and usually the funniest guy in the room,” his memorial says.
Lerke leaves behind his daughters, Kennedy Lerke and Grace Lerke, his sister, Rebecca Lerke, and many extended family members and close friends.
Lerke’s graveside service will be held at Rural Hill Cemetery on Old Highway 28 in Whitehouse at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 24.
